Couples must obtain a marriage license application in Florida and present it to the notary public before the marriage ceremony with a valid form of government issued ID (driver's License).
The marriage license application is valid for 60 days from issue date.
There is a 3-day waiting period after issuance of the license before you can get married, unless you have completed the Florida pre-marital course, in which case the waiting period is waived (certificate required). For non-Florida residents a marriage license application is effective immediately.
I perform a simple, civil ceremony. It may be personalized, and the bride and groom may even exchange their own vows. However, the couple’s must agree their intentions are to make a lawful commitment to each other.
